The Wallich celebrated the Adult Learner’s Week June 25 to July 1 with a range of activities from cartoon strips to sharing incredible service user stories.
Michael’s inspirational story was published in the Wales on Sunday and Wales Online. Michael has been supported by The Wallich to volunteer as a Support Worker at our Swansea Shoreline project and has gained valuable skills and training (Michael pictured above courtesy of Wales Online/Media Wales).
Alex, our multi-talented Wallich Ambassador not only blogs for the organisation but did a five day cartoon strip all about education, training and skills offered by The Wallich and other agencies, along with statistics around why people want to continue to learn. See the rest of his cartoons on Twitter.
Our Skill Scheme team exhibited at the Learning and Skills Festival in the Bridgend Life Centre to promote the project that will deliver pre-employment training and qualifications while also providing participants with practical, on-the-job experience through volunteering and work placements.
We attended the Inspire Cymru Awards and learnt about the amazing adult learners who have transformed their lives through learning.
We can’t wait until next year #lovetolearn
