Welsh businesses are battling it out in the ultimate fundraising challenge as they compete to raise the most money for The Wallich as part of Clash of the Corporates.

Teams borrow a £50 seed investment and grow it in to a larger sum over just 50 days by imaginative fundraising initiatives.

Businesses taking part include The Angel Hotel, Amplified Business Content, DS Smith, Source Insurance, Yolk Recruitment, Kin+Ilk and Morgan Sindall.

Last year the team from Peacocks took the coveted title of Most Money Raised, a total of £3000, by holding events including cakes sales, raffles, dress down days, Halloween-themed events and a children’s drawing competition aptly named Homes for Halloween.

Just over £14,000 was raised in total by the businesses taking part and the money was put towards a new mobile outreach provision service to be launched in October.

Zoe Westerman, Strategic Corporate Relationships Manager at The Wallich said:

“Cardiff is home to some brilliant creative and entrepreneurial businesses. Clash of the Corporates is a great way to bring the local business community together through some healthy competition. We’re looking forward to seeing what innovative and creative fundraising ideas the teams come up with this year to help raise vital funds for our charity.”

Charlotte Leighton, Marketing Manager at Peacocks said:

“Peacocks are proud to have been a part of the first year of this great competition for The Wallich. The team were all absolutely delighted to take part and our winning plaque is still pride of place in our reception area”.
