Over the past fifty days, nineteen teams have been busy trying to raise as much money as possible for The Wallich by growing an initial investment of just £50 in our corporate challenge.
Businesses across South Wales have been using entrepreneurial, innovative and fun ways to grow their £50 including auctioning rugby tickets, holding cake sales and car washes, there has also been a private concert by Only Men Aloud and a lot of hair shaving, legs and Mohicans!
Their fantastic efforts accumulated an impressive total just over £13,000 to support some of the most vulnerable people in Wales.
This year, the team from Dawsons Estate Agents took the coveted title of Most Money Raised – a total of £3262.98 by holding a variety of events including cake sales, raffles, dress down days, Halloween-themed events and a charity auction evening.
The winning team was presented with their award at a ceremony which took place at The Angel Hotel in Cardiff.
Awards were also given to Kin & Ilk, who won Most Creative Idea for their daring Directors head shave and to DS Smith for Best Teamwork, a result of their collaborative fundraising ideas and great communication.
Zoe Westerman, Corporate Strategic Relationships Manager at The Wallich, said:
“It’s only our second Clash of the Corporates challenge, however, to date it has raised nearly £30,000. We are so grateful to all teams who took part and embraced the challenge, there were some truly ingenious and fun fundraising activities that went on this year. I hope each team feels rewarded after the awards evening, as they are all winners in our eyes”.
Joanne Summerfield-Talbot, Director of Residential Sales at Dawsons said:
“We are delighted with our award but it’s not about the winning, it’s the taking part and raising as much money as we can to help and support The Wallich. Which in turn will provide those vulnerable with a roof of their head, give them the peace, safety and security they are entitled too and above all their dignity.
The total sum raised by all competitors is an outstanding achievement and we’re thrilled to have been a part of that. Special thanks goes to all our staff for their commitment, enthusiasm and outstanding team work and equally special thanks to all our clients and business associates, this would not have been possible without them’
