Powys Housing Related Support Service supports homeless people and those living in temporary accommodation allocated by Powys County Council in Newtown and the surrounding area, ensuring that they are found permanent, sustainable accommodation.
This involves working closely with people to meet their needs and develop skills to enable them to move into a home and maintain their tenancy. The service works closely with other agencies to provide a holistic support tailored to individuals’ needs. The service supports people over the age of 16 but also supports families who may have young children.
Housing management responsibilities are also allocated to The Wallich for some units of temporary accommodation. This project also provides floating support to meet the needs of those who are unable to access temporary accommodation. Support continues to be provided to all clients on the project until they have moved into their new homes and feel able to manage independently.
