Unlike most greedy promoters, this generous biker group didn’t charge £200 for tickets to their weekend music festival, it was just £15 – and now they’re giving all the proceeds to The Wallich.
The 12th annual Rusty Sprockets MCC Moon Rally was held at Marconi Holiday Village at the end of July.
As well as good old rock and roll music the motorcycle club also put on lots of family entertainment and benefited from the campsite’s shower facilities and swimming pool – no smelly festival portaloos here!
Now that the festival is over and the headaches have subsided – the generous bikers have decided to donate all the money they made to The Wallich to benefit our Cardiff Nightshelter, which was recently saved from closure by a Crowdfunding campaign.
Andrew Muldoon aka ‘Doony’, Rusty Sprocket and Wallich Staff Member, explains why:
“We’ve been holding a charity event called the Moon Rally for over 12 years which was originally started when one of our members passed away. Every year a different charity is chosen. I chose The Wallich this year because since working there I’ve seen the amazing work they do and on hearing the Cardiff Nightshelter was under threat of closure thought we should do something to help.”
The biker group rode in convoy to deliver the donation of over £2,000 to The Wallich on Saturday 1st August at the charity’s headquarters on Cathedral Road.
