On Sunday 29 April 2018, 24 runners donned The Wallich vests to take on the ABP Newport Wales Marathon and 10K after raising a significant amount of money for homelessness services.

At last count (4 May 2018), the #TeamWallich runners have raised a total of £10,432.88.

The Wallich had the privilege of cheering on seven determined marathon runners, taking on the 26.2 miles, and 18 excellent 10K runners on the day.

Our cheer squad near the Newport Transporter Bridge, situated at the 6K and 24-mile marks, waved their signs and pom-poms enthusiastically to spur on the runners.

The Wallich Newport Marathon 2018

All of our supporters made a fantastic effort to raise as much money as possible to help us get people off the streets, keep people off the streets and create opportunities for people.

Special thanks must go to the following, for raising the most pounds:

10K fundraiser: Captain Beany – £571.25

Marathon fundraiser: Naomi Swift – £1,562.13

Huge well done to our fastest runners:

Fastest 10K time: Ellis Watkins, an Admiral Graduate fundraiser – 48:30

Fastest marathon time: Tom Kennedy, a first-time marathon runner from Cardiff – 3:02:24

Also, a big shout-out to group entrants from Help for Homeless Society at Cardiff University and The Wallich staff.
