Everybody has the right to a home that allows them to feel safe and happy.

Sophie has been in position as Area Manager with responsibility for operations across North and Mid Wales since 2016.

She oversees a vast portfolio of projects at The Wallich, including; hostels, floating support and drop-in services for people with a range of complex needs, specialist projects such as mediation and rough sleeper services and looks after the first Housing First project in Wales (which can be found on Anglesey).

Sophie has developed strong relationships with public authorities and third sector providers. She has been able to apply her knowledge and experience of the homelessness and Supporting People sectors to enhance services in her region.

Previously, Sophie managed The Wallich’s projects in Denbighshire between 2010-13 before going to work for Denbighshire County Council where she was responsible for developing and commissioning Supporting People projects.

Highlights included the development, commissioning and securing of capital funding for a new hostel and emergency bed project in Rhyl, following the ‘Anglesey Judgement’ which put the Rhyl Nightshelter at risk of closure.

I am passionate about supporting people who are vulnerable and often marginalised in society to secure their own home and realise their potential.
