Leadership announcement

14 Jul 2025

Due to personal reasons, Karen Robson, CEO of The Wallich, has made the decision to step down from her role at The Wallich

Oliver Townsend, Chair of The Wallich Board of Trustees, said:

“In her time at The Wallich, Karen has successfully driven a commitment to and initial implementation of a new fundraising approach, built connections and relationships in new areas for the organisation, and pushed forward plans to develop our new strategy as an organisation.

“Karen has brought a fresh perspective, a passion and drive to her work, and has already driven positive improvements in our external communications to new partners and areas of work. I have always seen her passion and connection to the people we support, in everything we do, and I have valued that immensely.

“We wish her well for the future, and are grateful for the hard work, focus and clear commitment she has given in our shared mission to end homelessness.”

Karen would like to convey her admiration and thanks to staff for their dedication, commitment and support during her tenure. She also wishes to express particular gratitude to service users and Shadow Board members for sharing their personal experiences with her to better inform service delivery for others. These conversations will be her defining memory of her time at the charity.

Townsend continued, “As the Board looks at proposals for interim leadership arrangements, we have full confidence in The Wallich Directors to lead business as usual and that service delivery will not be interrupted. We will announce those arrangements as soon as possible.”
