A winter of turning points: £56,270 raised to support people facing homelessness

30 Jan 2026

Thanks to the generosity and compassion of supporters across Wales, The Wallich has been able to support 4,014 people across Wales this winter.

Launched on World Homelessness Day, 10 October 2025, the campaign called on communities to be the turning point for people in crisis – offering small but vital interventions that can make a big difference in someone’s life.

This incredible effort means more people have been able to move from instability into safe housing, access essential services and regain hope during one of the most challenging periods of the year.

Total raised: £56,270

Turning point - Wallich Winter 2025 Campaign

Where your money goes

The money raised will go towards The Wallich’s vital work supporting people currently experiencing homelessness, at risk of becoming homeless or living in vulnerable housing.

This includes direct help for people through emergency grants, outreach services and practical provisions that can change lives at a crucial moment.

Over Christmas, we were able to give our service users a festive meal and gift.

This winter

Grants were given to people across Wales to alleviate the cost of living.

We helped people tackle debt, replace broken household items, helped people move into their own homes, pay for a form of ID, help them get work, put food on the table and provide essentials for their children.

Without the generosity shown this year, many more people would face winter without vital help and connection.

Generous individuals

From donations as small as £2 to larger gifts, individuals from all walks of life stepped up to make a difference.

400 generous individuals gave a one-off gift or set up a regular donation to The Wallich this year.

63% of supporters were brand new to The Wallich.

Many gave online, at local events, through bucket collections within the community, or pledged regular monthly support.

Every donation means The Wallich can be there for people in Wales, whenever they need support.

The Wallich winter raffle

Prizes for the 2025 Wallich winter raffle included £250 M&S vouchers, luxury hampers, tickets to Josh Widdicombe, family day trip vouchers, hotel stays and much more.

Many prizes were generously donated by organisations across Wales, including Savills, Azets UK, Darwin Gray, Thomas Carroll.

With support from our amazing community sellers, we sold 1124 tickets and raised a grand total of £2,248.

Their generosity not only boosted fundraising totals but helped bring crucial support directly to people in need.

Louisa Turner, Head of Fundraising at The Wallich said,

“We have been blown away by the generosity of our supporters – individuals, businesses, and community groups alike.

A staggering number of people have supported The Wallich’s 2025 Winter Appeal.

Whether through monetary donations or gifts of food and clothing, the kindness shown by our supporters has already enhanced, and will continue to strengthen the support we provide to people experiencing homelessness across Wales during the coldest months of the year.

Thank you to our incredible community of supporters who have come together to help us get one step closer to making homelessness history.”

Support continues throughout the year

While the winter campaign may be over, the need for support continues year-round.

The Wallich’s services operate 365 days a year, helping people leave homelessness behind and build stability and hope for the future.
