It’s inspiring to work with so many compassionate people who provide such a diverse range of support to individuals – day after day. They look out for each other and make sure everyone is part of the team.

Sophie is the interim Director of Operations for North, Mid and South-east Wales, as well as The Wallich’s Service Innovation arm which includes creative arts, mobile operations, counselling and more.

She oversees a variety of traditional housing-related services across the region including hostels, supported accommodation, floating support, outreach and Housing First.

Her geographic coverage includes The Wallich services in Ceredigion, Gwynedd, Ynys Mon, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Wrexham, Powys, Torfaen, Vale of Glamorgan and Cardiff.

Sophie has worked in the homelessness sector in Wales since 2010, first managing The Wallich’s services in Denbighshire.

She then gained experience with the local authority, developing and commissioning Supporting People projects.

She returned to The Wallich in 2016 as Area Manager, before progressing to Strategic Operational Lead in 2021.

In 2025, she was appointed Interim Director Operations.

Sophie is committed to continuous improvement and innovation, using her learning to enhance services in her regions and promote best practice across the organisation.

She is proud to lead a team of dedicated staff who often go above and beyond to support people out of homelessness and help them to access opportunities that are meaningful to them.

Everybody has the right to feel safe, settled and happy. I am determined to make this happen by treating people as individuals, supporting them to make their own choices and becoming independent.
