3 chickens

It’s Volunteer’s Week, an annual celebration of the amazing contributions that volunteers make across the UK and we want to thank our ‘eggsellent’ volunteers.

Our volunteer programme RSVP (Residents and Service Users’ Volunteer Programme) is a supported volunteering programme specifically designed for The Wallich residents and service users.

RSVP started in 2011 and has supported over 600 volunteers across all of Wales giving in excess of 25,000 hours.

Our volunteers do a variety of activities that include gardening and maintenance in our allotments and in projects across Wales.

The Wallich delivers tailored support so when a service user, Phil Meredith, asked about chickens, we went for it. Phil is a resident in our Swansea Shoreline Project and looks after the chickens every day.

As Phil says, “I’m in charge of the eggs”.

Volunteering can be anything you want it to be. Cracking.
