Winners of our first corporate fundraising challenge, Clash of the Corporates, have been announced at an awards ceremony in Cardiff.
Over the past fifty days, seventeen teams have been busy trying to raise as much money as possible for The Wallich by growing an initial investment of just £50. Imaginative fundraising initiatives included a viral campaign, cinema screening, charity menu and a children’s drawing competition.
This year, the team from Peacocks took the coveted title of Most Money Raised – a total of £3000 – by holding a variety of events including cakes sales, raffles, dress down days, Halloween-themed events and a children’s drawing competition aptly named Homes For Halloween. The team was presented with their award at a ceremony which took place at the Clayton Hotel in Cardiff.
Awards were also given to Arthur J Gallagher, who won Most Creative Idea for their viral campaign ‘Whistle for The Wallich,’ and to DAC Beachcroft for Best Teamwork, a result of their collaborative fundraising ideas and great communication.
At the awards event, Jan Balsdon, Head of Community Partnerships at The Wallich, said:
“I am incredibly proud to work with such wonderful corporate partners who are committed to supporting our cause. The funds raised as part of this challenge will be used for our work with rough sleepers, investing in the lives of the homeless people we support.
Congratulations go to Peacocks for a convincing win and, on behalf of everyone at The Wallich, I would like to say thank you to all the teams that took part. Your dedication, hard work and positive contribution to our community is truly commendable.”
