The tenant then saves to pay back the bond over a two-year period.
We want to make getting your deposit together more achievable.
The decline in social housing and rising house prices have caused more competition to rent privately in Wales.
Upfront payments – including bond monies and rent in advance – makes getting private accommodation more difficult for many people on low incomes.
In addition to providing financial support, the Bond Board supports tenants to move and resettle.
We also help build a positive relationship with local landlords.
We provide mediation and problem-solving, if the relationship between a tenant and the landlord breaks down.
By helping people with their deposit and improving tenant-landlord relationships, we hope to help prevent homelessness across Blaenau Gwent.
To make a referral to the Bond Board, please contact Housing Department at Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council.
Referrals for support can only be made by the council.
