It’s inspiring to work with so many compassionate people who provide such a diverse range of support to individuals – day after day. They look out for each other and make sure everyone is part of the team.
Sophie is the Strategic Operational Lead for North and Mid Wales.
She oversees a variety of services across the region including hostels, supported accommodation, floating support, outreach and Housing First.
Sophie has worked in the homelessness sector in Wales since 2010, first managing The Wallich’s services in Denbighshire.
She then gained experience with the local authority, developing and commissioning Supporting People projects.
She returned to The Wallich in 2016 as Area Manager, before progressing to her current role as Strategic Operational Lead in 2021.
Sophie is committed to continuous improvement and innovation, using her learning to enhance services in her region and promote best practice across the organisation.
She is proud to lead a team of dedicated staff who often go above and beyond to support people out of homelessness and help them to access opportunities that are meaningful to them.
Everybody has the right to feel safe, settled and happy. I am determined to make this happen by treating people as individuals, supporting them to make their own choices and becoming independent.
