The Torfaen Rough Sleepers team works with people who are experiencing homelessness and living a street-based lifestyle across Torfaen

The Torfaen Rough Sleepers team employ an assertive outreach approach to identify and respond to reports of rough sleeping activity.
We work with people sleeping rough across Torfaen including Cwmbran, and Pontypool.
The aim is to provide person-centered targeted support, information and assistance to enable people to alleviate and prevent homelessness.
The team positively engage with individuals who are sleeping rough in Torfaen, encouraging engagement with statutory and voluntary services.
The Wallich operate a harm reduction approach to supporting those sleeping rough.
Being mindful of the safety of the person and the safety of the wider community.
Torfaen Rough Sleepers service work on a multi-agency basis with key partner organisations across Torfaen including:
- The Council’s Housing Solutions Service, where relevant, to support people to access and sustain appropriate accommodation.
- Social and private rented sector landlords to sustain tenancies and increase access to affordable housing.
A holistic, timely and innovative approach is provided to those who are homeless and / or at risk of homelessness to maximize independence.
The Wallich work with the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE’s) agenda to deliver a trauma informed response to support vulnerable people who have experienced ACE’s and to prevent future ACE’s.
Torfaen Rough Sleepers service receive referrals directly from Torfaen Council Housing Team or the StreetLink app.
