Menus that Matter

Work in hospitality? Own a bar, restaurant or café? Support a homelessness charity with our Menus that Matter pledge

Each year, The Wallich supports more than 7,000 people in Wales with housing, wellbeing, employability and more.

Solving homelessness requires a community response.

Working with restaurants, pubs, bars, cafes and takeaways in our communities can help us to end homelessness in Wales, for good.

Pledge your support

We’d be overwhelmed if you could pledge a portion of the cost of a meal or drink on your menu supporting The Wallich.

No matter the amount, your support means everything to us and people experiencing homelessness in Wales.

How it works

Here are just a couple of suggestions for your menu.

For every X meal you order, we will donate £1* to The Wallich to help tackle homelessness in Wales.

50p* from every X cocktail will help The Wallich end homelessness in Wales.

*Suggested donations, you choose how much to pledge.

Which businesses have donated their profits?

We are fortunate enough to have fantastic establishments take part in the Menus that Matter initiative.

Lot11, a café situated in Wrexham donated 50p from each Turkey Toastie they sold, raising a fantastic £250.

Sarah, the owner and manager of Lot11 said:

“We chose to assist The Wallich as helping those who are homeless is something close to our hearts in Wrexham City we want to tackle the issues and do anything we can do to help.”

The Stable Cardiff donated 50p from every Festive Full Monty pizza sold. They sold 467 festive pizzas, raising an awesome £233.50.

Charley, General Manager of The Cardiff Stable said:

“Working in hospitality in the city centre often means late nights and early mornings, meaning we often see rough sleepers trying to find shelter or getting bunkered down for the night. It seemed like a no brainer to support The Wallich due to their hard work in not only providing help and support to get people off the streets, but to continue to invest in people and continuous support of those in need in the community and streets that directly surround our establishment.”

The difference you’ll make

Your contribution will help to end homelessness in our communities.

The Wallich’s mission has three strands, getting people off the streets, keeping people off the streets and creating opportunities for people.

We specialise in providing services for people often excluded from other services and have difficulty in accessing accommodation or maintaining their tenancy.

The range of services The Wallich offers is as diverse as the client group we work with.

Long-term solutions, rather than short term fixes, are developed in partnership with service users to live a safer, happier and more independent life.

“I think I have grown since I’ve come here. I’ve made loads of friends being here. I find it really safe here. The staff make sure we are in a safe environment.”
