Cardiff Nightshelter provides emergency accommodation

Available between the hours of 8pm – 9am for people who are sleeping rough in Cardiff.

Residents of the Nightshelter going through the stress of experiencing homelessness can:

The Wallich rough sleepers team on the streets in the Riverside area of Cardiff

22 emergency bed spaces, a communal living room, kitchen and bathroom.

Winter fundraising campaign

The Cardiff Nightshelter is open 365 days a year – including Christmas Day – preventing 23 instances of rough sleeping every night.

We don’t receive enough funding to keep the Nightshelter open, we rely on the generosity of the general public to bring people out of the cold and into a place of safety and support.

This year, our winter campaign will help us keep the lights of this vital emergency accommodation on.

More about the Cardiff Nightshelter

As well as warmth, safety and food, residents have access to a support worker and are signposted to longer-term solutions so they can escape the streets.

Resettlement plans are produced and liaison with health, benefits and criminal justice agencies is part of the service provided to work towards ending the individual’s homelessness.

The Nightshelter is open to those aged 18 and over who are sleeping rough in Cardiff.

It forms part of Cardiff Council‘s emergency homelessness provision and places are allocated by the Gateway team.
